What Is The Difference Between Silicone Wire And Ordinary Wire?

Published by Author: Joey Wan September 08,2023

Silicone wire insulation is made of silicone rubber, which has a long service life and is easy to install. Many friends don’t know much about the difference between silicone wire and ordinary wire. Let's take a look today.
Let us first understand the introduction of ordinary wires. Ordinary wires usually refer to ordinary household wires, which are widely used in ordinary power transmission lines such as household lighting, induction cookers and hair dryers.

Ordinary wires are suitable for electrical equipment and lighting devices: AC 500V and below or DC 1000V and below, namely PVC insulated flexible cables, or copper core PVC insulated shielded PVC sheathed flexible cables voltage 300V/300V2-24 cores.

Cable silicone flexible can be used for relatively high industrial wires and special wires, which cannot be achieved with ordinary wires. Silicone flexible cable can withstand high temperatures of 180-200 degrees and low temperatures of 60 degrees. Ordinary circuits are mainly thermoplastic, with a basic high temperature limit of 105 degrees. No matter how high the temperature is, it can easily cause melting. In addition, the softness, wear resistance, stretchability and oil resistance of high flexible silicone cable and flexible tinned copper silicone wire cable are much better than ordinary threads.

It can be seen from the market price that silicone flexible cable are much more expensive than ordinary wires. If there is no special requirement for the use environment, ordinary wires can be used. If the equipment has high requirements or special wires, silicone wires must be used.
