FLexible Core Cables And Hard Core Cables Differ In Core Structure

Published by Author: Joey Wan September 15,2023

Soft core cable, also called soft structure conductor cable, is usually a multi-stranded conductor made of twisted bare copper wires. It is a category 3 or 4 conductor, such as 16mm 5 core flexible cable, 2.5 mm2 x 3 core flexible cable, 2.5mm x 3 core flexible cable 100m.

For the same cross-sectional area, there are as few as 7 cores and as many as more than 30 cores.

The more strands, the softer the state, and the higher the corresponding manufacturing cost! In addition to having general electrical and physical properties, insulation and sheathing materials must also be soft.

Hard core cable is also called hard conductor cable. The conductor is a single-strand structure, that is, the conductor is a copper wire. In comparison, the process is simple, and the insulation can be extruded with a centering die. The manufacturing is simple, easy to control, and the cost is low. Disadvantages: The wire core is easy to break and difficult to bend.
